Long Live webOS

<p>HP announced today that they are giving up on all the webOS hardware and exploring the ways of spinning off their PC business. Talking about pivoting ... it is a $1.2B one, at least. Try beating that. </p>
<p>On the bright side, having worked with webOS and Enyo for some time, I can say that it is truly a great piece of engineering and a great platform that will likely resurface somewhere at some point in the future. Maybe HP can do us all a favor and open source it? </p>
<p>It is a platform that allows one to build a native mobile application in HTML/JavaScript, which is unique in the industry. A lot of the code that we developed for the TouchPad is now finding its way into our new webapp. </p>
